New iOS app and marketing struggles.
An update on a new iOS app I am working on, as well as how I manage marketing and SEO for CIPO as a beginner.
First week of 2025.
Cipo updates
Following up on last week's update, Cipo MVP is now fully built and published. Here are the main issues I am facing.
Processing bigger file sizes and marketing
Because this process uses advanced machine learning to extract information from financial documents, it requires a significant amount of processing time and memory. While we can perfectly handle small files, larger files cause the system to break.
To resolve this issue, I attempted to upgrade my AWS EC2 from t3.micro to t3.medium. The issue is costs involved, and it appears that t3.medium may still not be sufficient.
I have already tried to optimize document processing to save memory, but the problem persists. One of the best suggestions I found online was to use multi-threading for various aspects of document reading and processing. I will look into it.
Given that I have not advertised the tool, I do not have any users yet. I am considering increasing the server memory to 16GB and then advertising to see what users think. If people like the project and are willing to pay, I can probably live with the costs and then consider the best optimization options later. I need proof of an idea first.
The app is now live; all I need to do is start marketing to the appropriate users. The problem is that I do not know where to start. I was leaning toward organic UGC and marketing. The idea is to create social accounts to promote the app and then direct all of those users to the website. The only work is to create those videos and frequently post them, hoping that a percentage of people will sign up with us.
I can use ugc built with AI tools to simplify and accelerate the process. I am thinking about targeting Linkedin and Shopify.
My only concern as a first-time founder is trying to make my app perfect before onboarding users. I believe I must overcome my perfectionism in order to accomplish this.
New iOS app
Since the beginning of the new year, I have been working on a new project. I am building an iOS app. The app is intended to help mothers track the activities of their young babies. My goal is to create and launch within a month.
2 weeks to research the idea, market proof, and build.
Third week: testing, submitting the app to Apple for review, and warming up social platforms in preparation for marketing posts. Also, use AI to credit marketing videos.
Fourth week: receive Apple's submission review, launch the app, and focus heavily on marketing.
Misc:
I plan to post my first YouTube video this week.
Look forward to seeing you next week.
